CUSAT CAT 2019 – The exam date of computer-based Common Admission Test (CAT) by Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is April 06-07, 2019. The Admit card for CUSAT CAT 2019 exam is now available. This is a Common Admission Test (CAT) held for admissions in various B.Tech Programmes in Cochin University. Your admission will be based on the performance in the entrance test only. Candidates who are wishing for M.Tech admissions have to appear in Departmental Admission Test (DAT). CUSAT CAT 2019 Application Form

The CUSAT CAT 2019 Application Form is made available on the official website of CUSAT which is cusat.ac.in. To fill the application form candidates need to be thorough with the eligibility criteria and then start filling the application form. The brief steps to fill the application forms are as follows:

  • Log in using the credentials sent to your email id and phone.

CUSAT CAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Below is the eligibility criteria to appear in the CUSAT CAT 2019 Exam:

For the candidates aspiring for civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering, information technology, mechanical engineering, polymer science and engineering and safety and fire engineering

  • Candidates must have Passed in Plus Two Examination of the State of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects and securing a separate minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.
  • Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Cast (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.
  • SEBC candidates of Kerala State belonging to non-creamy layer category are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for the qualifying examination.

For candidate wishing for Marine engineering

  • Aspirants must have Passed in the Plus Two Examination of the State of Kerala or any other examinations accepted as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% marks and minimum 50% for Mathematics alone. Also, the candidate Should have passed English at 10th or 12th Standards with 50% marks (applicable to SC/ST candidates also).
  • Candidate’s Maximum age limit prescribed is 25 years as on 1st September of the year of admission.

For Naval Architecture and Ship Building

  • Candidate must have Passed in Plus Two (10+2) examination conducted in Kerala or the examination of any other University/ Board accepted by the University as equivalent thereto in First Class (60% marks) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects of study and with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics as well as for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.
  • Aspirants belonging to Kerala Scheduled Cast (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.
  • SEBC candidates of Kerala State who are certified as belonging to non-creamy layer are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for qualifying examination.

For instrumentation technology

  • Candidate must have Passed in the plus two (12th) examination of any state/national board with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry or any other examination accepted as equivalent by CUSAT with at least 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together and with at least 55% in Mathematics separately.
  • Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Cast (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.
  • SEBC candidates of Kerala State who are certified as belonging to non-creamy layer are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for qualifying examination.

CUSAT CAT 2019 Exam Pattern

The CUSAT CAT 2019 exam pattern is as follows:

  • The mode of the exam will be online only i.e. (CBT).
  • There will be 250 questions in total.
  • MCQ type questions will be asked.
  • Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects will be covered.
  • The duration of the test will be of 3 hours.
  • For each correct answer, you will get 3 marks and for each incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted.

CUSAT CAT 2019 Admit Card

The CUSAT CAT 2091 Admit Card is made available online under the candidates’ login at cusat.ac.in. There is no offline mode to get the admit card, that means that the University does not mail or post the admit card personally to the registered candidates.

The admit card contains all the test center related details like name and address of the venue. The personal details like the name of the candidates, course applied for, exam roll number/application number is also made available in the admit card. Apart from that it also includes the exam hall realted ibstructions.

CUSAT CAT 2019 Result

The CUSAT CAT 2019 result is published online at cusat.ac.in. The Rank List is prepared based on the scores and marks of the candidates in the entrance test of CUSAT CAT. Candidates should note that they have to score a minimum of 10 marks in each of the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to get themselves included in the Rank List.

If there is a tie, then the following measures are taken to prepare the merit list for admission:

  • The marks of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry will be considered in the same order.
  • If the tie still persists, then the total number of correct answers of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry will be considered in the same order.
  • If the tie is still there, then dates of birth of the candidates in the descending order will be considered.
  • Lastly, if there is still the tie then names of the candidates in alphabetical order will be considered.

Rank list will intimate the names of those candidates who all are eligible for the counseling process. The schedule of the counseling process will be announced after the declaration of the CUSAT CAT Result. The selected candidates will have to register their options for the branch and seat allotment process. The serial order in which you will select programmes will be considered as the order of your preference and the same will be applied for all seat allotments.
