It is expected that Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) will conduct CUSAT CAT 2019 in the last week of April 2019. This is a Common Admission Test (CAT) held for admissions in various B.Tech Programmes. Candidates who are willing to take admission in any of the branches of B.Tech will have to appear in CUSAT CAT 2019 by filling the application form, most probably, in the last week of February 2019. Your admission will be based on the performance in the entrance test. Candidates who are wishing for M.Tech admissions will have to appear in Departmental Admission Test (DAT). CUSAT CAT 2019

The CUSAT CAT 2019 entrance test will be conducted in online mode i.e. Computer Based Test (CBT) will be held at various centers. The schedule of important dates regarding CUSAT CAT 2019 is given in the table below:

CUSAT CAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria

For the candidates aspiring for civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering, information technology, mechanical engineering, polymer science and engineering and safety and fire engineering

  • Candidates must have Passed in Plus Two Examination of the State of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects and securing a separate minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.
  • Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Cast (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.
  • SEBC candidates of Kerala State belonging to non-creamy layer category are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for the qualifying examination.

For candidate wishing for Marine engineering

  • Aspirants must have Passed in the Plus Two Examination of the State of Kerala or any other examinations accepted as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% marks and minimum 50% for Mathematics alone. Also, the candidate Should have passed English at 10th or 12th Standards with 50% marks (applicable to SC/ST candidates also).
  • Candidate’s Maximum age limit prescribed is 25 years as on 1st September of the year of admission.

For Naval Architecture and Ship Building

  • Candidate must have Passed in Plus Two (10+2) examination conducted in Kerala or the examination of any other University/ Board accepted by the University as equivalent thereto in First Class (60% marks) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects of study and with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics as well as for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.
  • Aspirants belonging to Kerala Scheduled Cast (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.
  • SEBC candidates of Kerala State who are certified as belonging to non-creamy layer are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for qualifying examination.

For instrumentation technology

  • Candidate must have Passed in the plus two (12th) examination of any state/national board with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry or any other examination accepted as equivalent by CUSAT with at least 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together and with at least 55% in Mathematics separately.
  • Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Cast (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.
  • SEBC candidates of Kerala State who are certified as belonging to non-creamy layer are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for qualifying examination.

CUSAT CAT 2019 Exam Pattern

The CUSAT CAT 2019 exam pattern is as follows:

  • The mode of the exam will be online only i.e. (CBT).
  • There will be 250 questions in total.
  • MCQ type questions will be asked.
  • Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects will be covered.
  • The duration of the test will be of 3 hours.
  • For each correct answer, you will get 3 marks and for each incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted.

How to Prepare for CUSAT CAT 2019?

Candidates who all are aspiring for CUSAT CAT 2019 should start their preparation as soon as possible to get more better results. Make a proper plan and strategy before starting the learning process. Figure out your weak and strong parts and accordingly give more time to the topics which you think are difficult for you. Solve sample papers and previous years question papers as many as possible to get the idea of questions that has the highest chances to come. Appear for mock test.

CUSAT CAT 2019 Application Form

All the interested and eligible Candidates will be able to apply online from 1st week of February 2019 most probably. Candidates are advised that they should make payment of fees online and complete all the required steps on or before the last date. Candidates should read the information brochure properly before applying for CUSAT CAT 2019. All the details should be provided very carefully. Any mistake or invalidness in the details provided in the application form may lead to the rejection of the candidature.

CUSAT CAT 2019 Admit Card

The candidates who will successfully apply for CUSAT CAT 2019 exam will be able to download their Admit Card from the official website. The direct links to download the admit card will also be provided here as soon as it will be available. The hall ticket will not be sent to any candidate via post or any other medium.

CUSAT CAT 2019 Result

It is expected that the CUSAT CAT 2019 Result will be declared in the month of May 2019. The Rank List will be prepared based on the scores and marks of the candidates in the entrance test of CUSAT CAT. Candidates should note that they will have to score a minimum of 10 marks in each of the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to get themselves included in the Rank List. If there is a tie, then the marks of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry will be considered in the same order.

If the tie still persists, then the total number of correct answers of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry will be considered in the same order. If the tie is still there, then dates of birth of the candidates in the descending order will be considered. Lastly, if there is still the tie then names of the candidates in alphabetical order will be considered.

CUSAT CAT 2019 Counseling

Rank list will intimate the names of those candidates who all are eligible for the counseling process. The schedule of the counseling process will be announced after the declaration of the CUSAT CAT Result. The selected candidates will have to register their options for the branch and seat allotment process. The serial order in which you will select programmes will be considered as the order of your preference and the same will be applied for all seat allotments.
