GATE 2019 Result – IIT Madras has released GATE 2019 Result on March 15, 2019. Check it from the link below. GATE 2019 Result includes marks out of 100 and the qualifying marks for each category. To check GATE 2019 result, the candidates have to access the link below and log in using their enrollment id and password. We have provided here link to check the result and category wise qualifying marks. The GATE 2019 Scorecard was made available from March 19, 2019 and will be available until March 31, 2019. The scorecard has been issued only to the GATE qualified candidates. On the basis of the result, candidates will next have to appear in counselling rounds like CCMT or COAP. Latest: GATE 2019 scorecard is available until May 31, 2019. Soft copy of the same can be downloaded until December 31, 2019 with a late fee of Rs. 500/-

Note down these important instructions on GATE 2019 Result. These are the mandatory points that one must note before proceeding to check the result.

Now, candidates must keep in mind that this is the result of GATE 2019, and is just for the information of raw/normalised marks of GATE. It is the GATE scorecard that will be used at the time of admission. Thus, as soon as the GATE 2019 scorecard will release as per the schedule above candidates have to download it.

GATE 2019 Normalisation

There are few papers in GATE, like CE, CS, EC, EE and ME that are conducted in multi-session. Other papers are mostly concluded in a single session. Therefore on GATE the papers that are held in multi-session, their scores out of 100 are normalised. For other papers in the single session, raw marks are presented.

Thus the marks out of 100 are of two types: Raw scores for single session papers and normalised scores for multi-session papers.

When the GATE 2019 Result is announced, candidates will get to know their marks out of 100. Now to know the overall GATE score and AIR, they have to wait for the GATE 2019 Scorecard.

To check the scorecard and download the same, candidates will have to apply the steps below:

  • Login into your account.
  • Your GATE 2019 scorecard will appear on the screen.
  • Download it and take 3 to 4 printouts of the same.

Remember that, if you have scored more than or equal to the qualifying marks in your category, you will be able to download the GATE 2019 Scorecard.

Understanding The GATE 2019 Scorecard

Now there are few terms marked from 1 to 6 in the scorecard that is important for the candidates to understand, thus we have explained them in the section below:

#1 GATE Score

To calculate the GATE Score for all the papers, the following formula is used:

#2 Validity

This will indicate for how long your GATE 2019 scorecard is valid. The scorecard of GATE remains valid till 3 years from the day of issuance.

#3 Marks out of 100

This will include the raw marks of single session papers or normalised marks for multi-session papers of GATE 2019. This will be out of 100.

#4 All India Rank In This Paper

This will indicate your rank among all the candidates who have appeared for the same paper.

#5 Qualifying Marks

This includes category wise minimum marks needed to qualify GATE 2019. You can check the qualifying marks for GATE 2019:

After GATE 2019 Result

Now after the result candidates who are eligible for admission to IITs have to participate in the COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) and the candidates who wish to take admission in NITs, CFTIs and IIITs will have to take part in CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech. / M.Arch./ M.Plan.admissions). There are also scope for Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) recruitments on the basis of GATE 2019 scores. Many PSUs recognise GATE 2019 score to offer jobs to the meritious candidates.

COAP – Admission to the IITS

Candidates who qualify GATE and wish to take admission in the IITs, have to register in COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal). Via registering in COAP, the candidates can select their most preferred choice of seat in their desired IIT. By following the COAP process the admission is finalised in the India Institute Of Technologies (IITs).

CCMT – Admission in NITs, CFTIs and IIITs

No, candidates with valid GATE score who are willing to take admission in the NITs, CFTIs or IIITs have to participate in the GATE 2019 counselling i.e. CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech. / M.Arch./ M.Plan.admissions). This counselling is purely online based. The process includes – Online Registration, Choice Filling and Locking of Choices; Online Seat Allotment;  Payment of Seat Acceptance Fee; Reporting at RC after paying the Seat Acceptance Fee; Payment of Seat Confirmation Fee, and Report at the allotted Institute and pay the Institute balance fee.

PSU Recruitment via GATE 2019 Result

Many PSUs recruit on the basis of GATE score in addition to their selection process. Thus, if one has a valid GATE score the doors of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) are open for them. Some of the PSUs that accept GATE scores are:
