GATE 2020 Result – IIT Delhi has taken the responsibility to declare the GATE Result on March 16, 2020. The candidates can check their GATE 2020 Result online using the GOAPS. To check the GATE Score using the GOAPS, candidates need to enter the enrollment Id and the Password. The IIT Delhi has set the exam for February 01, 02, 08 and 09, 2020. The GATE 2020 Result is available online on GOAPS. Only the qualified candidates are able to download the GATE 2020 Scorecard on its release. How is GATE 2020 Result Composed?
After the exam is over, Induan Institute of Technology Delhi releases the official answer key for the GATE 2020. Using this answer key the Result for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2020 is calculated. The marks per question are awarded as specified in the official marking scheme. The scoring algorithm for the GATE has the following features:
- Maximum marks for the GATE 2020 is 100 marks. (Raw Score)
- The Normalisation process is used in calculation of the GATE Score.
- Marks are awarded for every correct answer marked by the candidate.
- For every incorrect answer by the candidate a negative marking also holds.

GATE 2020 Cut-off
The GATE 2020 Cut-off refers to the minimum qualifying marks in the Aptitude Test 2020. The cutoff is released soon after the declaration of the result. The GATE Cut-off is subject to change every year. As the GATE 2020 Result isnt announced yet, thus, the cutoff is also awaited. How will I know whether I have qualified or not?
IIT Delhi will release the Minimum Qualifying marks in every subject. Candidates need to check the same. This list of marks is released category-wise. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering cut off is released on the official portal for GOAPS. If the candidates have a score greater than that in the particular subject, then the candidate is marked qualified. Also, only the qualified candidate is able to download the GATE Scorecard. Therefore, of the candidate is unable to do so, then he has not been qualified.
Understanding of GATE 2020 Result
GATE 2020 is conducted for admission to various NIT’s, IIT’s, CFTI’s, IIIT’s as well as PSU Recruitment. To qualify in the GATE Exam candidates need to appear for any of the 25 branches in engineering and science courses.
GATE 2020 Marks, Score & AIR
GATE 2020 is being conducted for a maximum of 100 marks. Marks in GATE 2020 is to be calculated using the official answer key. The marks obtained by the candidate out of 100 are called Raw marks. This raw marks is converted out of 1000 marks using which a scorecard is prepared. The scorecard preparation uses the process of normalization in case of multi-session exams and from Raw Marks in case of single session exams. Calculation of GATE 2020 Raw Score and Normalized Score
Candidates who appeared for the GATE 2020 must know about the result of the same. Normalization of marks refers to bringing the marks at an equal level in conisderation with the difference in the difficulty level of various shifts of the exam. In GATE 2020 exam some subject papers are conducted in multiple shifts. Therefore, it becomes necessary to normalise the scores of the candidates. Normalization is done to ensure the uniformity in the GATE 2020. The score is normalized using the following formula:

While checking the GATE 2020 Result candidates get confuse between the GATE Score with the normalized score. However, both the score and the normalised score are different elements of the GATE 2020 Result.
- For single session papers, the raw marks are used for calculation of GATE Score. This means raw score is converted out of 1000
- For multiple session papers, normalized marks are used.

After GATE 2020 Result?
Initially, IIT conduct GATE to fill seats in M.Tech / M.E / M.Arch / M.Plan courses for the intitutes. However, in today’s time, the score of GATE is used for admissions not only in IIT but several other as well. This includes NITs and CFTIs. Admission into IITs
IIT Admission is done on the basis of GATE Score. A good GATE Score can land a perspective candidate in the IIT. There is no fixed score at which IITs grant admission. There is a cutoff every year which acts as the minimum and maximum rank needed for the admission into IIT. GATE 2020 is yet to be conducted thus, the cutoff for the same is not available. However, candidates can check previous year opening and closing ranks to get an idea about what is a good score which can land one in the IIT.

NIT and CFTI Admission
National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), and Centrally Funded Institute (CFTIs) grants admission on the basis of GATE 2020 score. For this, Centralized Counselling for M.Tech (CCMT) is held. CCMT 2020 is conducted by one of NIT and more than 40 institutes participate in it.
The Process of CCMT 2020: GATE 2020 candidates have to complete the registration for CCMT 2020, on ccmt.nic.in. After the completion, the candidates get the option to submit choices for course and college. Following this, on the basis of GATE score, the seat allotment result is announced.
PSU Recruitment Through GATE 2019
PSU refers to the Public Sector Undertaking. These undertakings also uses GATE Score to recruit candidates for a junior engineer, assistant engineer, and other posts. The application form for the PSU Recruitment via GATE 2020 is released separately. Candidates interested in the same have to fill the application form before the last date.
