HPCET 2020 Result – Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) will be releasing result for Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) 2020. HPCET result 2020 shall be made available online on the official website and also on Notice Board of the University. The result of each candidate shall be provisional. A tie breaking criteria shall also be adopted in case candidates have scored the same aggregate marks in HPCET 2020 or qualifying examination. How to check HPCET 2020 Result?

HPTU shall publish the result for HPCET 2020 online on the official website. Therefore, candidates must know how to check HPCET result 2020 by following the below given steps.

Step 1 : Visit the official website and click on the direct link provided for HPCET 2020 result.

Step 2 : Once you click on the link, login portal will show up on your scree. (Screenshot below)

Step 3 : Login by entering your your HPCET 2020 roll number or by your entry name.

Step 4 : Once you login, your result for HPCET 2020 shall appear on the screen.

Step 5 : Check you result and take a print out of the same for future reference.

HPCET 2020 Result : Tie breaking

While preparing the merit list HPTU shall follow a tie breaking criteria to break the tie, if any, in ranking procedure if the candidates have scored the same aggregate marks in HPCET 2020 or qualifying examination. Following is the criteria to be followed.

Tie breaking for B.Tech :

If two applicants have the same HPCET- 2020 aggregate marks, the candidate with higher marks in Physics will be ranked above.
If the marks in Physics are same, then higher marks in Chemistry would break the tie.
If the marks in Physics and Chemistry are same, then the marks in third subject would eventually be same. The qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 marks would break the tie and it will be done during counseling there and then if the qualifying examination marks are not available in the HPCET 2020 application form.
If the qualifying examination marks are also same then the date of birth of the applicants will be considered. Elder candidate shall get the benefit of being ranked above.

HPCET 2020 Merit List

After the declaration of HPCET 2020 result, HPTU shall release the HPCET 2020 merit list online on the official website. Merit list is prepared on the basis of marks/scores obtained in the entrance examination. A separate merit list shall be prepared for JEE main qualified students and HPCET 2020 qualified students. Candidates shortlisted after the release of merit list and are included in the list shall have to appear in HPCET 2020 centralized counselling and seat allotment process. An applicant listed in the merit list shall be eligible for all rounds of admissions/Counselling, irrespective of whether he/she attended/availed admission in the earlier round or not.

HPCET 2020 Counselling

Candidates who have qualified HPCET 2020 need not to apply for admission-cum- counselling
form on the basis of HPCET 2020. Such candidate may appear directly in the counselling as per
counselling schedule given. A candidate must be present in person at the time of Counselling and should immediately report to the Admission Selection Committee on calling. The applicant present during the Counselling will be given an opportunity to choose from the seats available at his/ her turn.

The candidate must produce the following documents, in original, along-with one set of photocopies duly
attested at the time of Counselling.

Certificate of having passed the qualifying examination.
Marks-sheet issued by the Board/University
Indian School Certificates showing the date of birth.

Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) will conduct Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) 2020 for admissions to B.Tech offered by HPTU and colleges affiliated to it, deemed to be University. HPCET 2020 is a pen paper based test.
