B.Tech Admission in GGSIPU – Earlier the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) used to organize a common entrance examination for B.Tech which is also known as IPU CET. According to the recent notification, admissions in B.TEch courses in the university will be done through JEE Main – I. After successfully passing the entrance examination the candidates will probably have to fill an application form admissions to various engineering colleges affiliated to the GGSIPU. Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must have attained a certain educational qualification in order to be eligible to get admission in various engineering colleges under the GGSIPU. As per the new guidelines, the B.Tech admission in GGSIPU will be done through National Level Examination JEE Main, therefore the JEE Main Eligibility criteria, as well as the eligibility criteria for GGSIPU, must be fulfilled. Candidates can check for themselves the eligibility criteria from below.

Eligibility Criteria For GGSIPU 2019 B.Tech Admission

  • There is no age limit for JEE Main, however, for GGSIPU B.Tech admission candidate must have attained the age of 17 years.
  • The candidate must have cleared class 12 boards with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidate must additionally have passed English as a subject of study (core/ elective/ functional) in the qualifying examination and a Technical Vocational subject in the qualifying examination.

Note: The candidate who has cleared class 12 boards on or after 2017, can appear in JEE Main 2019.

IPU CET 2019 Application Form

As per the recent notification, the CET exam is not going to be conducted for the admissions in B.Tech program from the academic session 2019-20 onwards. Now, the JEE Main score will be counted for the admissions in the same. JEE Main Application form must be filled by the candidates to appear for JEE Main 2019. Probably, an application form to apply for the IPU B.Tech admission will be released on the official website, which would be filled along with their JEE Main score. Further, the counselling will be held by the university itself. However, candidates need to wait for the official notification for specific details regarding the IPU B.Tech Application form.

JEE Main 2019 Exam Pattern

National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts JEE Main in Online mode. JEE Main will consist of 3 sections namely Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Every section contains 30 questions. All the questions in JEE Main are of objective type. Candidates have to complete the JEE Main within 3 hours. The candidates will be given a choice in the medium of the question papers. The medium of examination in all test centers will be in English and Hindi Medium.

From the session 2019-20 onwards admission to GGSIPU B.Tech programme is to be done on the basis of JEE Main Paper 1. IPU CET 2019 B.Tech Result

JEE Main will be conducted for admission in IP University from 2019-20 onwards. The result for JEE Main will be counted as the basis of selection for admission for B.Tech. programme. The result for JEE Main 2019 will be announced on the official website. The candidates will be able to check their results by providing their credentials generated at the time of filling the application form. IPU CET 2019 B.Tech Counselling

From the session 2019-20 onwards JEE Main score will be counted as the basis of admission for B.Tech admission. After the release of the JEE Main result GGSIPU will organize the counselling IPU B.Tech Admission for the qualified candidates. Last year, the counselling procedure for B.tech admissions was in the online mode after the conduction of IPU CET. The candidates were required to pay the counselling fee and do the choice filling. Candidates got admissions on the basis of the ranks scored by them and a list of available B.tech colleges was available for the candidates to choose from. The counselling procedure for IPU B.Tech Admission for 2019 is expected to remain the same. However, official notification will be released regarding the detailed counselling process.
