IPU CET B.Tech 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The IPU CET B.Tech 2018 Eligibility Criteria is decided by the IPU CET 2018 conducting body which is Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi. The candidates need to read these eligibility criteria and then fill up their online application form to appear in IPU CET B.Tech 2018. Thus the candidates must go through this article carefully and know the minimum qualifications needed to be able to apply for the examination. If any of the eligibility criteria is not fulfilled by any of the candidates their candidature may be cancelled at any stage of the admission process.

IPU CET B.Tech 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Here are the criteria that one needs to fit in to apply for IPU CET B.Tech 2018. Candidates need to have a valid proof to prove their claim of eligibility. The IPU CET B.Tech 2018 Eligibility Criteria is:

Minimum Qualification

Candidates must have passed 12th Class of 10+2 pattern of CBSE or equivalent.

Minimum Marks

A 55% aggregate is needed in physics, chemistry, mathematics, provided they have passed in each subject separately. Candidate must additionally have passed English as a subject of study (core/ elective/ functional) in the qualifying examination.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

To enrol in the B.Tech courses the candidates must appear in the IPU CET B.Tech 2018. The admissions would be based on the merit/rank in the CET.

IPU CET 2018 Reservation Criteria

Although after fulfilling all the admission and eligibility criteria, the admission will be based on the availability of seat and the reservation criteria. Mere satisfying the IPU CET B.Tech 2018 Eligibility Criteria and admission criteria do not guarantee the admission. Following are the details of the IPU CET 2018 reservation:

  • Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/ Widows or Wards of Defence Personnel/ Persons With Disability will be allowed 5% relaxation of marks in the minimum eligibility requirement, irrespective of the fact whether there exists any reservation for any category of such candidates or not.

The Reservation Policy for the University Schools, Government Institutes and Self Financing Colleges/ Institutions affiliated with this University, other than minority institution, for the academic session 2018-19 are as follows:

For University Schools of Studies and Government Institutions Located in NCT of Delhi:

  • 85% of the sanctioned intake shall be allocated for Delhi Region wherein reservation of seats shall be as under:
    1. DSC- 15%
    2. DST- 7.5%
    3. DOBC- 27%
  • 15% of the sanctioned intake shall be allocated for outside Delhi Region wherein reservation of seats shall be as under:
    1. ODSC- 15%
    2. ODST- 7.5%

For Institutions Located in NCT of Delhi in except minority status institutions:

  • 85% of the sanctioned intake (minus the management quota which is 10% of total seats unless surrendered by the institution for common counselling) shall be allocated for Delhi Region wherein reservation of seats shall be as under:
    1. DSC- 17%
    2. DST- 1%
  • 15% of the sanctioned intake (minus the management quota which is 10% of total
    seats unless surrendered by the institution for common counselling) shall be allocated for outside Delhi Region wherein reservation of seats shall be as under:
    1. ODSC- 15%
    2. ODST- 7.5%

Self Financing Institutions Located in NCR, outside Delhi except for minority status institutions:

  • 85% of the sanctioned intake (minus the management quota which is 10% of total seats unless surrendered by the institution for common counselling) shall be allocated for Delhi Region wherein reservation of seats shall be as under:
    1. DSC- 15%
    2. DST- 7.5%
  • 15% of the sanctioned intake (minus the management quota which is 10% of total seats unless surrendered by the institution for common counselling) shall be allocated for outside Delhi Region wherein reservation of seats shall be as under:
    1. ODSC- 15%
    2. ODST- 7.5%

Documents to be produced

To proof the above mentioned IPU CET B.Tech 2018 Eligibility Criteria, the candidates need to produce the following documents at the time of Counselling:

  1. Caste/category certificate from a competent authority.
  2. Reservation certificate in the name of the candidate is required to be issued from the native state/region.
  3. IPU CET B.Tech 2018 scorecard
  4. Qualifying Examination Certificate
  5. Proof of Date of Birth
