JEE Main 2018 – The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) was held successfully on April 08, 2018. JEE Main 2018 Answer Key is now available after exam. Candidates who have chosen the online mode of the examination were given the option to choose their test date and slot while filling the online application form only. The offline test will be conducted across 112 cities of the country and the examination in online mode will be conducted in 258 cities.

JEE Main 2018 Answer Key are available now after exam

CBSE will release official answer keys of JEE Main 2018 as per schedule. There will be one pdf file or table of answers for each set of question paper, in case of pen and paper based exam, and each shift, in case of computer based test. Candidates will get a four days window to login and view answer keys. They can download it and save it for future reference also.

When will the JEE Main answer key 2018 be released?

JEE Main 2018 exam dates are April 8, 15, 16. On each day, unofficial answer keys are being released after exam. However, JEE Main official answer key 2018 will be available from April 24 to 27.

How to challenge JEE Main official answer key 2018?

Candidates can challenge the official answer key of JEE Main 2018 as per above schedule. To challenge, they have to login and fill up a form at jeemain.nic.in. For each answer in JEE Main official answer key 2018 they wish to challenge, they have to pay Rs 1000.

JEE Main 2018 Result is published by CBSE in online mode. Candidates can check JEE Main Result 2018 at cbseresults.nic.in. To check result, login using roll number and date of birth. Declaration of result of JEE Main 2018 takes place two times: firstly for paper 1 and then secondly for paper 2. In both Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains) results, score, All India Rank are published. In result of paper 1, status of qualifying for JEE Advanced 2018 is given as well.

CBSE will announce JEE Main result 2018 indicating score and All India Rank (AIR) for paper 1 on April 30, 2018. After that, it will declare result of JEE Main 2018 for paper 2 on May 31, 2018.

Is there a subject wise cutoff in JEE Mains?

No. There is no subject wise cut off in JEE Main. There is only an overall cut off. The overall cut off to be obtained in JEE Mains are minimum marks to qualify for JEE Advanced. There is no passing marks to get a rank in JEE Main.

  3. Participating institutions

JEE Main 2018 Counselling

Candidates shall be offered admission based on their choices and All India Ranks of JEE Main 2018 through a Seat Allocation Process to be announced later after the declaration of the results. The candidates will be able to make their choices online for branches/programmes and institutes at the appropriate time.

The counselling will be done by a centralised counselling process called the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).

The verification of documents would be done at the time of Seat Allocation Process/admission.  SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates will be required to produce original certificate issued by the competent authority.

JEE Main 2018 Admit Card was released on March 12. It is still available for download.

Those candidates who have successfully completed the online application process can now get their JEE Main 2018 admit card online. The admit card is available since March 12, 2018. It has to be printed on a white A4 sized sheet and carried to the examination centre. The admit card will act as an identity proof for the candidates. Thus make sure to preserve it until the end of the admission process.

  2. Log in using the application number and password.
  3. The admit card appears on the screen. Download it.

JEE main 2018 Examination pattern will be different for paper 1 and paper 2. We have discussed below every aspect of the examination in details

Mode of the Examination

Online and Offline. But it must be noted that while paper 1 will be both in online and offline mode, paper 2 will be conducted in offline mode only.

Instructions for online mode of examination

Candidates will be assigned computers at the test centres. When they reach the centre they need to follow the instructions of the invigilator and login into their systems. The system will indicate the following to let candidates know their response status for each question.

The candidates need to open their question booklet as per the instructions of the invigilators. Make sure to read all the instructions printed on the OMR sheet before filling up the options.

The correct way to mark the responses:

  • The rough works will be done in the question booklet itself and not in the OMR sheet.
  • The candidates must fully satisfy themselves about the accuracy of the answer before darkening the appropriate circle as no change in answer once marked is allowed. Use of eraser or white/correction fluid on the Answer Sheet is not permissible.
  • Candidates will be allowed to carry the question booklet after the completion of the examination.

Types of Questions

In paper 1 the candidates will be facing all objective type questions.

In paper 2 the candidates have to attempt objective questions in part 1 and part 2 and in the part 3, they will be attempting drawing tests.

The marking scheme that will be followed in all the mode of examination is +4 for each correct answer and -1 for each wrong answer.

JEE Main 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have applied for JEE Main 2018, must fulfill the the following eligibilitry criteria. If their eligibility clain is found false anytime during the course of the admission process, the candidature will be cancelled.

Age:

Date of Birth of the candidates should fall after October 01, 1993. SC, ST and PWD candidates will get 5 years of age realaxationon the upper age limit.

Year of appearing in the qualifying exam:

Candidates must have appeared in their 10+2 either in 2016 or 2017, to be eligible for JEE Main 2018.

Subjects in the qualifying exam:

Atleast 5 subjects are compulsory in the qualifying exam.

Number of Attempts:

The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE Main shall be limited to 03.
