JEE Main 2019 New Changes – JEE Main till 2018 has been conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education but from the year 2019 onwards, the governing authority for JEE Main 2019 is National Testing Agency (NTA). There are few changes which have been added and updates in reference to the JEE Main 2019 Examination. NTA has released the Information Brochure for JEE Main 2019 today. Candidates can grasp more information about the JEE Main 2019 from this article.

JEE Main 2019 New Changes

It has been specified that JEE Main 2019 will be conducted twice a year first at the beginning of the month i.e., in January and then in the month of April. NTA has opened the gates for the registrations of JEE Main 2019 January Session from today. Candidates can register themselves and then fill the application form after seeing the eligibility criteria. Candidates can check the additions in JEE Main 2019 (January Session) from the information given on this page.

National Testing Agency

For the year 2019, the conducting body for JEE Main 2019 is National Testing Agency (NTA) which has been established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. It has been decided by Government of India officially that JEE Main will now be conducted as per the norms set by NTA.

Aadhar Number not necessary for Registrations

It is to be noted that the Aadhar Number is not mandatory to get yourself registered. Candidates will just have to fill their academic, personal and contact details required to complete the registration process. However, till this year the Aadhaar number was a mandatory component to do the registrations but for the year 2019, Aadhar Number is not an important thing to be provided to the concerned authorities.

Attempts Limit

Aspirants, who have already appeared for JEE once or twice were especially concerned about the attempts. Such is because earlier a candidates could only appear for JEE Main 3 times and that too consecutively. However, this year, there is no such criteria. As per the recently released information brochure, anybody who has appeared for class 12th boards exam in 2017 or 2018 is eligible for JEE Main 2019. Even candidates who will be appearing for boards exam in 2019 are also among the eligible candidates.

Normalization of Scores

It has been observed that JEE Main 2019 examination will be conducted twice a year in multiple sessions. However, it might be possible that some of the students will opt for difficult questions and some will opt for easy questions. The candidates who will opt for tougher questions will get lower marks as compared to the students who will answer easy questions. So, to avoid any chaos in this situation “Normalization procedure based on Percentile Score” will be used to provide some relief to the students who opted for difficult questions. The normalization process was used this year too, however, the normalization process for the year 2019 is somewhat different.

JEE Main 2019

  1. On page 7 of the JEE Main 2019 brochure I was surprised to see that question paper will be in English, Hindi and Gujarati. Why only in Gujarati? Are Marathi, Tamil, Bengali etc not Indian languages? Why should students from other language mediums be at less advantage than Gujarati students in clearing JEE exam?
