JEE Main 2019 Normalisation – New Process Of Result Calculation

Since JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 exam will be held on different days between January 06 to 20, 2019, NTA has introduced the normalisation of scores for calculation of results. Normalisation is done to scrap any uneven level of difficulty among various shifts of examination.

However, NTA will try to keep the difficulty level even among all the exam shifts, but there still might remain a probability of unevenness. Thus, NTA will normalise the raw scores of the candidates using the formula below:

Candidate’s Percentile Score = (100 X Total number of candidates who have appeared in the “session” with the raw score equal to less than the candidate’s) ÷ Total number of the candidates appeared in the ‟Session‟.

Percentile score is the normalised score.

  • A detailed explanation of normalisation is available – Click Here.
Important: But, as per the information brochure of JEE Main 2019, Normalisation will not be done for Paper 2. This is because JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 might be conducted in one single shift only. The Result will be based on the raw marks of the candidates.

JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 Scorecard
