What is NTA?
We told you that NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2020. You must be having this question,” What is NTA?”. We are here to answer your query. NTA is National Testing Agency. It shall conduct the JEE Main 2020. It is also responsible for other competitive exams such as NEET, UGC NET, CMAT and GPAT.
Previously, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted these exams particularly JEE Main, NEET and UGC NET. But in 2018, NTA was made to reduce the stress on CBSE of conducting these exams and hence from 2019, NTA is responsible for conducting these exams. JEE Main 2020 Exam Pattern
JEE Main till 2018 was used to be conducted in two modes: 1) Pen and Paper Based 2) Online Computer Based Test(CBT). JEE Main 2020 Eligibility Criteria
The students planning to appear for JEE Main 2020 must know about the eligibility criteria for the exam. It is a crucial thing which the students must check before moving to the application form filling section. The application form will be rejected if the students do not check the criteria and simply apply for the exam. There are different factors for the eligibility criteria which the students have to check. Take a look:
- Date of Birth: The candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1993 shall be eligible. A relaxation in age shall be provided for students of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates. All the students from the mentioned categories will be provided with a relaxation of upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.
- Year of Examination in Qualifying Examination: Those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2018 or 2019; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2019 are eligible to appear in JEE(Main)- 2020.
- Number of subjects in the Qualifying Examination (QE): Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Main) 2020. The candidates who have taken four subjects are not permitted to write JEE (Main) 2020.
JEE Main 2020 Number of Attempts
The students who are preparing for JEE Main 2020 must know that there is a limit on the number of attempts for appearing for this exam. They can appear for the exam a total of 3 times. After the 3 attempts, the students will become ineligible to appear for the exam. The appearing candidates should take a note of this thing. It is an important information for them.
JEE Main 2020 Application Form
The next step after checking the eligibility criteria is to fill the JEE Main 2020 Application Form. The application form will be filled in online mode only. No offline forms shall be accepted. For the application purpose, the student needs to have Aadhar Card as well. It is an important thing which the candidates must have definitely with them. In case, the student does not have the card, they should apply for the same.
Also, in case they have applied but not received the Aadhar Card, they should enter the 14 Digit Aadhar Enrolment Id including slash from the slip which shall be given to the candidate at the time of applying. Without having the Aadhar Card, the student shall not be able to fill the JEE Main 2020 Application Form. An important information is there for the students who are from the states of J&K, Assam & Meghalaya. The students from these areas shall enter the details from any one of the valid Ids:

In the application form, the students have to give some details like the name, date of birth, marks in the qualifying examination, the name of the parents etc. In addition to these, the students have to upload their image, signature and the father/guardian’s signature. Apart from this, they also have to choose the test city as well from where they shall give the test. After the procedure has been completed, the student shall move to the payment section where they will have to pay the application fee.
JEE Main 2020 Application Fee
The students who are filling the application form for JEE Main 2020 must know that they have to pay an application fee as well. Without paying the application fee, the student will be ineligible to appear for the further processes. The fee can be paid through any of the following methods:

The application fee once paid will not be refunded in any manner. JEE Main 2020 Admit Card
The students who are planning to appear for JEE Main 2020 must be knowing that the JEE Main 2020 Admit Card is an important document which the appearing students must have with them along with an identity card and other important information about it. Only those students will get the JEE Main 2020 Admit Card who filled the application form on time. It will be released by NTA. It will contain details such as :

JEE Main 2020 Answer Key
JEE Main Answer Key, till now was released by CBSE. Now, NTA shall release the answer key for the online computer based exam. It shall be uploaded on the official website of NTA only. The students who are not satisfied with the answers can challenge it. To do so, they will have to raise the challenge on the official website. The payment for the exam can be done in both the online and offline manner. Candidates have to ensure that they make the payments before the deadline. After the deadline, no requests for the challenge will be answered by the student. The final answer key for JEE Main 2020 shall be released after all the challenges have been accepted by the students.
JEE Main 2020 Result
The result of JEE Main 2020 will be declared after the challenges have been accepted by the students and the final answer key has been released. It shall be released on the official website of the NTA since it shall be the conducting body. The result will contain the score and rank of the candidate which they have secured in the Paper 1 of JEE Main 2020 Exam.
It will also contain the information that whether the candidate is eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2020 Exam or not. Rank will contain The rank shall contain All India rank and All India category rank. For the admission purpose, All India Rank (AIR) shall be used. One important thing which the candidates must definitely keep in mind is that the rank card will not be dispatched to the candidates.
JEE Main 2020 Tie Breaking Criteria
It might be possible that the two students score the same marks in the JEE Main 2020 Exam. In such a scenario, the tie will be decided as per the following criteria:
- The candidate obtaining higher marks in the mathematics section will be given a higher ranking as compared to a person scoring lower marks in JEE Main 2020.
- If the above criteria are not met, higher marks in Physics in the exam will fetch the candidate higher rank than the other one.
- If the above also is not satisfied, the rank will be decided by finding the ratio of positive marks and negative marks. Candidate having a higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.
- If the resolution is not possible after this criterion, candidates will be given the same rank
JEE Main 2020 Counselling
Through the JEE Main 2020 Score, admissions will be conducted to all the NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). Apart from these, the admissions to the various state engineering colleges might be conducted through the JEE Main 2020 Score as well. The counselling shall be conducted by the JoSaa/CSAB.
In the counselling, the student will have to fill in information as asked like the name, address, choices for the colleges etc. Also, they will have to pay the fee for the registration as given at the time of the payment for the counselling.
