Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) intakes admission in M.Tech programmes. The admission process includes qualifying the Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE), and for admission in M.Tech Biotechnology candidates have to qualify Common Entrance Examination for Biotechnology (CEEB). The JNU M.Tech Admission 2019 will be thus conducted for M.Tech Biotechnology, M.Tech Nano Science/Nano-Electronics, M.Tech Statistical Computing- (Data Science), Statistical Computing (Data Communication), and M.Tech Computer & System Sciences. Thus, aspiring candidates who wish to take any of the aforementioned courses must gather all the information related to the admission process. The application form to apply for admission will start tentatively in the month of September 2018 for both JNUEE and JNU CEEB. JNU M.Tech Admission 2019

Candidates must take note that mere qualification of the examination is not enough, candidates have to also appear in the document verification and viva-voce rounds after the entrance exam.


JNU M.Tech 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The course wise eligibility criteria is given below. The candidates who will be able to satisfy these conditions will be able to take admission in JNU.

M.Tech Biotechnology:

M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or any branch of Physical or Biological or Engineering Sciences or B.Tech/B.E. (Biotechnology/Bioengineering/Allied Areas)/MBBS with at least 55% marks or equivalent Grade ‘B’ in UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent Grade in a point scale wherever Grading system is followed).

Or

M.Sc./B.Tech/B.E./MBBS with 55% marks or equivalent Grade ‘B’ in UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent Grade in a point scale wherever Grading system is followed).

Or

Obtained 2 years M.Phil Degree with at least 55% marks of a recognized University/Institution (with dissertation/seminar/viva) or one year M.Phil with 55% marks with additional one-year research experience of a recognized University/Institution and one publication and 55% marks or equivalent in M.Sc./B.E/B.Tech./MBBS Relaxation to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/Differently abled as per the UGC Regulations.

M.Tech Nano Science/Nano-Electronics:

Nano Science: Master Degree in any branch of Science, or B.E/B.Tech in any branch of Engineering & Technology with 55% marks.

Nano-Electronics: B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication/Electrical Engineering or M.Sc. Electronics with 55% marks.

M.Tech Computer & System Sciences:

Master’s degree in Computer Science/ Mathematics/Statistics/ Operational Research/ any branch of Science/ any branch of Engineering/ Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with at least 55% marks. P.G. holders of AYUSH related subjects are also eligible to apply.

M.Tech. Statistical Computing:

Master’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or Statistics or Operational Research or in any branch of Science or Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering or Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with at least 55% marks.

Candidates have to apply online using their personal and educational information. The data the candidates will provide while filling the application form will be verified at the time of document verification. Thus, make sure to furnish all authentic and correct information.

JNU M.Tech Admission 2019 Exam Pattern

The general exam pattern of JNUEE M.Tech 2019 and CEEB 2019 will be as follows:

  • Mode: Offline
  • Time: 3 Hours
  • Marking Scheme: +1 and negative marking differs for each course
  • Maximum Marks: 100
  • Type of questions: MCQs

In JNUEE M.Tech 2019, the question paper will have 100 questions based on Graduate/Postgraduate level Mathematics and Statistics, Graduate/Postgraduate level Computer Science and General Aptitude.

In JNU CEEB 2019, the question paper will be of the following pattern. There will be 2 streams in the question paper:

(i) Technology Stream :

  • Part A: Basic Engineering & Technology – at the undergraduate level
  • Part B: Physics/Chemistry/Maths – at the undergraduate level
  • Part C: Fundamental Life Sciences, chemical sciences and Informatics – at 10+2 level

(ii) Life Science Stream:

  • Part A: Life Sciences (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Immunology – at postgraduate level
  • Part B: Physics/Chemistry – at the undergraduate level
  • Part C: Maths, Computer & Information Sciences – at 10+2 level.

JNU M.Tech Admission 2019 Admit Card

The candidates have to download their Admit Card from the University’s website, jnu.ac.in. The same must be carried to the Examination Centre with a copy of latest passport size photograph. The entrance exam related information like time, venue name and address will be available on the JNU M.Tech Admission 2019 Admit Card. The candidates are also advised to keep the admit of the entrance examination until the end of the admission process.


JNU M.Tech Admission 2019 Result

After the exam has been held successfully JNU will publish the result of the various entrance exam at its official website. The result will be available for check through online mode only. Those who will appear in the entrance exam will be able to check their result by entering either their Registration Number or Application Number. The selection of candidates will be on the basis of the merit in the entrance examination. JNU shall also publish the cut off list which shall consist of the name of the subject, Type, CD, Code, Subject, and cut off marks for each category.


JNU M.Tech Admission 2019 Counselling

The counselling rounds for the selected candidates will be conducted and candidates have to appear in person for document verification and viva-voce. For CEEB candidates will have to report at IIIT -Delhi for completion of the admission process. Those candidates who will not be able to attend the counselling as per the schedule will be not eligible for admission in JNU. Thus, make sure you keep a track of the counselling schedule after the result has been declared.
