How to Check KCET 2018 Results
The candidates can check the KCET 2018 results by visiting the official website. The candidates can follow the below mentioned easy steps to get to know their result.
- Click on the direct link that will be provided above once the details for the KCET 2018 are available.
- The candidates will be redirected to the KCET Result page.
- The candidates will be required to submit the registration number.
- After submitting the registration number the candidate will be shown their result on the screen.
- Once the results are available on the screen the candidates must take at least two printouts of the same keep them safe for future reference.
How is the result calculated
The candidates must know the procedure the Karnataka Examination Authority will follow for the calculation of KCET Results 2018. The KCET examination carries a grand total of 180 marks. 60 marks are for each of the sections i.e – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Since there is no negative marking in the KCET examination, there will be no reduction in the marks obtained by the candidates.
After the entrance examinations are over the candidates will be made available the provisional answer key on kea.kar.nic.in. The provisional answer key will have all the answers to the question paper. An answer key is very important because by checking the answer key, the candidates get the opportunity of calculating their obtained marks. The answer key will be available to download in the PDF format.
Important information for the CBSE/ CISE/ Repeaters/ Outside Karnataka candidates
It is compulsory for the above candidates to send a photocopy of their 12th standard marks card by mentioning their CET Number to KEA. The link to submit the qualifying marks will be updated once it’s available officially. Candidates send their class 12th/ 10+2 qualifying exam will not find a place in the merit list for admissions.
KCET 2018 Marking Scheme
The candidates must know the answer key for KCET 2018. Marking scheme gives the candidates a brief about the examination. Below is the marking scheme for KCET 2018.
Marks awarded for every correct answer: +1
Marks deducted for every wrong answer: No negative marking
KCET Result 2018 Merit list
Once the final answer key is made available on the official website, the candidates would be provided with the Merit list. On the basis of marks obtained by candidates in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects in Common Entrance Test–2018 and the marks obtained by candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in the Qualifying Examination, taken in equal proportions. The candidates would also be provided with their rank next to their names and the seat allotment shall be on the basis of the ranks obtained by the candidates.
The ranks provided to the candidates cannot be challenged and is the final list that will decide the allocation of seats. The candidate may not be able to check their ranks in the following cases.
- For want of Q. E. marks, a candidate might have missed the rank
- A candidate might have marked the version code wrongly
- Qualifying examination marks may change due to revaluation or otherwise, when corrected, a fresh ranking becomes necessary
KCET 2018 Cut Off
The cut off is the closing rank at which the admissions are closed for a particular course. The candidates will have to secure the marks equal or above the cut off in order to secure the admission
The total number of registration along with the candidate’s performance in the KCET examination also affect the cutoff. The candidates will be updated about the KCET 2018 Cut Off once it is declared officially.
Counselling for KCET 2018
The candidates who will have their names on the merit list will have to attend the counselling process. The. Counselling is expected to happen in the month of June. In thecounsellingg process, the candidates will have to get their documents verified. Documents such as the passing certificates, Migration certificate, character certificate shall have to be obtained from the former education institution. The candidates will be allotted seats in the counseling process based on their secured marks in the examination.
