NERIST Entrance Exam 2019

Now the important thing to understand about NERIST Entrance Exam 2019 is that out of the 3 phases of the exam, which phase will lead to what admission. Here is the deal, Technology stream (i.e., Engineering branches) at NERIST consists of three independent modules, viz., Base (Certificate), Diploma, and Degree modules. Thus, candidates have to apply for NEE 1 for Base (Certificate) courses, and Lateral entry or lateral admission into Diploma and Degree modules are permitted through NEE 2 and NEE 3 respectively.

NERIST Admission 2019 EWS Reservation

As per the new government policy candidates under the Economically Weaker section as prescribed by the Government of India has 10% of seats reserved in the institutions. NERIST is also offering reservation to Economically weaker sections of the society. According to the rule, if the annual income of a family is less than Rs. 8 Lakh then the candidate will have a reservation under EWS quota. The EWS quota is offered to the unreserved categories prevailing in the economy. Candidates would need to mention the reservation while filling up the application form with required documents as a proof, which will be further verified by an officer not below the rank of Tehsildar. NERIST Entrance Exam 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are different for different phases of the examination. Thus, below we have differentiated the same under 3 heads:

NEE 1 Eligibility:

Age Limit: Maximum Age Limit as on 31st July 2019 is of 19 years for the students of the general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August 1999), 22 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August, 1996) and 24 years for ST/SC/PD (born on or after 1 st August, 1994).

Academic Qualification: Applicants must have passed Class X / Matriculation / Secondary examination or an equivalent examination with Science and Mathematics. They should have passed in all the subjects including Science and Mathematics separately.

NEE 2 Eligibility:

Age Limit: Maximum Age Limit as on 31st July 2019 is 23 years for the students of the general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August 1995), 26 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August, 1992) and 28 years for ST/SC/PD (born on or after 1st August, 1990).

Academic Qualifications for different schemes/modes of NEE-II:

  • NEE-II (PCM): Applicants must have passed in 10+2 (PCM)/ Higher Secondary (PCM) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).
  • NEE-II (Vocational):Applicants must have passed10+2(Vocational) / ITI / NERIST Certificate in any one of the branches / trades, viz., [Agricultural Engineering] Farm Equipment (FE) / Food Processing (FP); [Civil Engineering] Construction Technology i.e. Draftsmanship / Surveyor (CT); [Electronics and Communications Engineering] Electronics Technology or Electronics Maintenance (ET/EM); [Electrical Engineering] Electrical Technology or Electrical Maintenance (ET/EM); [Mechanical Engineering] Mechanical Craftsmanship (MC) / Automobile Technology (AT) and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (R&AC) are eligible.

Candidates, who are selected for admission to Technology Stream under NEE-II (PCM) / NEE-II(Vocational), shall have the choice of the branch during counselling out of the six branches/disciplines, viz., AE, CE, CSE, EE, ECE and ME on the basis of their merit and reservation category.

NEE 3 Eligibility:

Age Limit: Maximum Age Limit as on 31st July 2019 is 40 years for the students of the general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August 1978), 43 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August, 1975) and 45 years for ST/SC/PD (born on or after 1st August, 1973).

Academic Qualifications: Applicants must have passed the 3-year Diploma course from any Government recognized Polytechnic / institution in the respective or allied discipline/ branch as per the Appendix-III given in this Information Brochure with a minimum of 60% marks considering aggregate marks of all the three years’ together/CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale or NERIST Diploma Module with a minimum of CGPA 6.0. Those applicants who do not possess their qualifications as per the disciplines/branches mentioned in Appendix-III are not eligible for the admission.

NERIST Entrance Exam 2019 Pattern

The exam pattern of NERIST Entrance Exam 2019 will be different for NEE 1, NEE 2 and NEE 3. However, the general pattern will be that the questions are of objective type with multiple-choice answers. For every wrong answer to a question, 1/4 of the marks carried by that question is deducted. There is no deduction of marks for un-attempted questions.

Now below are the exam pattern separately mentioned for each phase of the entrance exam:

NEE 1 Exam Pattern

It is conducted in one paper of 150 marks of three hours duration. The NEE 1 question paper will be consisting of three sections.

NEE 2 (PCM): Candidates, seeking admission in Diploma Module of Technology Stream, with academic qualification of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics shall have to attempt NEE 2 (PCM). Question paper under this scheme consists of three sections viz. Section A, Section B and Section C.
