TANCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who are preparing for TANCET 2018 has to first check that whether they are satisfying all the eligibility criteria or not. Checking the criteria is an important thing which needs to be done by the candidate to ensure that their application doesn’t get rejected.

TANCET 2018 Candidate Category
The candidates who wish to apply for admission to full-time M.Tech degree programme in Engineering be grouped as given below.
- Candidates who have a valid GATE 2016, GATE 2017 and GATE 2018 score with
qualifying marks for assistantship in the appropriate discipline of Engineering /
- Candidates who have a valid GATE 2016, GATE 2017 and GATE 2018 score with
qualifying marks for assistantship in Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (XL)
papers should appear for TANCET 2018 also.
- Candidates willing to be considered under TANCET category should appear for TANCET 2018.
- A limited number of seats (full time only) will be available for the candidates who are currently employed and sponsored by the Government organisations, Government aided educational institutions and registered professional architects. They should have a minimum of 5 years professional experience if applying under this category apart from appearing for TANCET 2018.
TANCET 2018 Application Process
TANCET 2018 Application process will be conducted online at the official website of Anna University. A direct link has been provided on this page for the students to apply for this examination. The application should be filled after the candidate has ensured themselves that they fulfil all the criteria.
It is a 3 step process. In the first step, the candidate has to register themselves for the admission process. The candidate will provide the basic details such as the name, address etc. Also, the candidate will have to give a unique E-mail ID for registration because it will be used for all communications till the admission process.
In the second step, the candidate will first login through the E-Mail ID and then fill in the academic details and upload their photograph as per the mentioned size. In this step, the candidate needs to check that whether all the details entered by them are correct or not. If some information is wrong, then correct and then submit.
In the final step, the payment process will be done. It will be online. Candidate will be redirected to the payment window after they do the final submission of the application. The application process will be incomplete without the payment.
Note: The candidate should note down the application number and use it for any further communications.
TANCET 2018 Admit Card
The admit card for TANCET 2018 will be released for those candidates who fill the application on time. It will be generated online on the official website of Anna University. A direct link will be provided to download the admit card. The dates for release of admit card for TANCET 2018 have not been announced yet.
The admit card needs to be carried on the day of the examination and should be produced at the time of the admission as well. It will contain the details like the name of the candidate, date and time of the examination, exam venue details etc.
Note: In case the candidate loses the admit card after the test, a duplicate admit card can be obtained. They have to pay Rs 100 in the form of a Demand Draft along with a written request to :
Registration number/Application Number and the name of examination centres should also be mentioned while sending the request. They will have to bring a black ballpoint pen with them to mark the answers in the exam along with the admit card.
TANCET 2018 Examination Centres
The TANCET 2018 exam will be conducted at the following locations:
Examination centre will be allotted as per the candidate choice, but it might be possible that another centre may be allotted. The final allotted centre will not be changed in any manner.
TANCET 2018 Examination Pattern
TANCET 2018 will be conducted in pen and paper mode. There will be in total 100 questions in the paper divided into 3 parts. Each question will have 4 option out of which only one will be the correct answer. The candidate has to shade the correct answer with the help of a black ball point pen only. The distribution of the questions in 3 parts are as follows:

For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded. A negative marking 0.33 will be there for the wrongly marked answer. The total marks of the paper are 100. There will be no negative marking for unanswered questions. Since negative marking is there for wrongly marked questions, hence it is important that the candidate marks the answer very carefully in the sheet provided.
Note: The Question Book in each subject may have different versions and will have a
unique serial number. The candidate will have to write and shade the question book serial number on the Answer sheet in the appropriate boxes and open box respectively. This is an important thing to be done because if the candidate makes mistake in marking, it may lead to wrong evaluation of the answer sheet. The university authority will take no responsibility for this.
TANCET 2018 Previous Year Paper
Students who want to have the TANCET 2017 paper for practice can obtain it at a payment of Rs 25 either through cash or DD in favour of “The Secretary, TANCET” payable at Chennai. The payment has to be done at the office of Centre for Admission & Entrance Examinations.

TANCET 2018 Result
The result of TANCET 2018 will be declared after the examination has been conducted. It will be published in the form of a mark sheet. The mark sheet should be downloaded by the candidate after 10 days of result declaration. It should be carried by the candidate on the day of the examination.
If a candidate loses their mark sheet, a duplicate copy can be obtained after the payment of a fee in the form of a Demand Draft along with a written request to the concerned authority. More details about the duplicate mark sheet can be obtained in the result section of this page.
Normalization of Marks for TANCET 2018 M.Tech
Normalization is done in most of the competitive examination to calculate the relative ranking of the candidate in any discipline and do an unbiased evaluation.
TANCET 2018 M.Tech paper consists of 3 sections. The first section will be of Engineering Mathematics. The second part will be of Basic Engineering and Sciences. The first two sections will be common for all the candidates. The third section will be different for the candidates according to the discipline. To ensure that the evaluation is done equally for all the students, mean marks will be calculated according to the formula:
